| I finally finished watching the Santa Clarita Diet. One of the many new shows that Netflix has commissioned in order to keep people paying their subscription fee. It's a dark comedy set in sunny California. It's got it all: PTA moms, real estate agents, and zombies. Drew Barrymore plays the lead housewife who's turned into a zombie. And, in the words of one expert, “a family who kills together stays together.” They soon end up biting through drug dealers and strip club owners in order to give her something to put in her smoothie every morning. |  |
It comes with complications. Portia DeRossi is ushered in order to help Drew Barrymore stop transforming. A police officer gets murdered. They take a family trip to the beach. It's excessively gory at times and it remains to be seen how long they can drag this concept out, but it still has my seal of approval.
