I decided that with almost two years of blogging upon me, it was time for me to finally dedicate some 600 word blog space to environmental activism. What after all is more environmentally friendly then the blog format? It's clutter free. You don't have to chop down any trees. And, it will be here forever and ever to haunt me and my grandchildren.
What I'm trying to say is that the bees are dying. |
This might not sound important, after all bees sting people. Bees are not the happy friendly poster child for animal support. Still as the The Bee Movie showed, as long as you have the help of Jerry Seinfield you can make them marketable. Even with a little bestiality.
Bees as you may recall from your 1st grade science class, pollinate the planet. They are responsible for all of the things that we enjoy to sustain our bodies. Almonds, apples, peaches, raspberries, watermelon, grapes, garlic are all pollinated by bees. And, if we don't have the bees pollinating the garlic how are we going to guard ourselves from vampires? |
Without the bees what will do? Knowing America we'll pay migrant workers to pollinate everything by hand, but is Sally in Minnesota really going to be willing to spend the extra money for that asparagus man handled by a foreigner. No.
Some exciting things humans have been doing to kill the bees is by using pesticides that directly effect bees. Farmers are attempting to protect their crops not only from the bad, but from the good. In the process they are killing the bees. Good job on that big agriculture. |
Climate change has also been connected to our bee problem. The more I read, the more I realize that humans are just doing our best to kill the earth. It's not going to stop me from taking that twenty minute shower in the morning, but mama earth are you okay? If she doesn't take us out with a national disaster, it will be starvation from killing all the bees.
Think of our children. Without the bees we can't survive as the human race. It's time to get rid of the pesticides and do everything we can to protect our bees who are just trying to survive in this world like the rest of the angsty teenagers. |
