Jackie should bring two things to mind: Ciara's failed album of the same name or America's first lady. Jackie Kennedy led an exorbitantly perfect life in the public eye and it's time she finally got plastered on the silver screen. Jackie is slowly working it's way into wide release in the United States. Natalie Portman is cast as the titular lead (to rave reviews) and the period piece would appear to be perfect Academy Awards fodder. She won an Oscar for Black Swan, five years ago, but that's five years. Portman necessarily has to carry the film and from critical reviews she does it with grace and elegance, something our first lady knew something of. |
