Count on Reese Whitherspoon's production company Pacific Standard to give us an all female led mini-series full of star power. Nicole Kidman, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley all star alongside Witherspoon in an adaption of the blockbuster novel Big Little Lies.

The black dramedy was praised by Vogue, gives you Desperate Housewives realness. These women have everything and nothing to lose. Picture it almost as Pretty Little Liars, but with grown adult PTA moms set on exacting revenge on each other. The opening theme is “Cold Little Heart”.

Not since The Devil Wears Prada has there been a romantic-comedy that captures the FUN of the fashion industry. Macho is a Mexican film concerning about a closeted heterosexual designer who uses his flamboyant ways to peddle his craft, until he has to get a boyfriend to prove just how gay he is.

The script plays with homophobia in a light hearted way that's only occasionally a little hard to handle. It's surprisingly sweet. Miguel Rodarte plays lead the philandering man whore, Cecilia Suarez is his beautiful competent partner who picks his fake boyfriend from the homosexuals in the office. Renato Lopez is young enough to still have his dimples and a machine gun from his late husband.

Broad City has a lot of reasons to celebrate. The Comedy Central comedy has been picked up not only for a fourth season- but a fifth season as well. The show to the uninitiated follows two Jewish American women living in New York City played by llana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson.

Executive produced by Amy Poehler the fourth season is premiering in August on the 23rd, shirking the January / February premier the show usually takes. Funny and riveting it's been praised by critics and fans alike. 

American Idol has only been off the air since last year. The juggernaut saw it's commercial peak wane after Paula and Simon called it quits, and although the forebarer to The Voice, in the words of Nelly Furtado, “all good things must come to an end.” A-List stars Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj couldn't save the show.

Scream Queens got canceled, but somehow American Idol got picked up by ABC- switching networks from Fox- for the 2018 season. You've got a solid 6+ months to get ready to decide if your going to binge this rework. With the reemergence of Will & Grace, Roseanne, Full House, and The Gilmore Girls, to name only a few it's questionable if this brand is heading for a comeback too soon. 

I'm sorry for lying to all (two) of you. My dedicated readers. At the close of the second season of Scream Queens I reported that I was almost positive that the show would be renewed for a third season (read here). I was wrong. I made too many assumptions. The first being that Ryan Murphy cares about my feelings.

I was visibly distraught when I heard the news that the horror / comedy series was canceled. I had (mistakenly) assumed that since the show had been left on a cliff hanger, then the shows front runners believe it would be renewed for another go round. This after all isn't the trio's first work on Fox with smash hit Glee in their canon. 

Mole woman, Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) has a lot to work through with the release of her third season on Netflix. The scripted comedy follows a young girl who moves to New York after being trapped in a bunker for 15 years. The Tina Fey produced comedy relies on a heavy amount of absurdism to remain endlessly watchable.

The title character's namesake is the most ingratiating part of the show. Kimmy is just a little too sweet and naive in her stupidity to be likeable. Instead it's her outrageously flaming roommate Titus Adromenon (Tituss Burgess) who's constant quest for stardom and self centeredness that brings levity to the show, along with her land lady opposed to the gentrification of her New York suburb.

Great news! Nicole Richie is BACK. After the cancellation of her hysterically funny VH1 reality show diatribe, Candidly Nicole, the socialite is back on TV in her first scripted role on NBC's Great News. Executive Producer Tina Fey picked her for her “impeccable comedic timing” that you just can't teach people.

Nicole plays Portia Scott-Griffith, one of the two main news anchors. She's got  21st century diluted gal power, who's horrendously self absorbed and disconnected from her baby boomer generation costar Chuck Pierce (John Michael Higgins)

Eurovision is this week and it's got us all gagging! Like literally a cough drop is stuck in my throat right now. The first semi-final to pass in order to take the European crown starts TODAY, May 9th.

For those in the United States, EuroVision is an annual competition, where all European nations send their strongest singer to the rings to represent their national pride. It's given us such moments as “Prima Donna” from Norwegian singer Lena Alexandra. Known primarily for her Nordic hit “My Boobs Are Okay!” And, even bearded drag queen Conchita Wurst hailing from Austria.
