Listed as an executive producer on a short film titled #Don'tNormalizeHate the film hopes to address the similarities between the United State's imprisonment of Japanese citizens during World War II and Trump's vision of creating a “muslim registry”.
The film is told by Haru Kuromiya who talks of her family's interment in 1942. The director Aya Animura says that Katy Perry gave them a “blank check” to cover the costs of the film.
