Last found major stars from different genres announcing their plans to release new music in the coming year. Lady Gaga dropped the cover art and title for Joanne her 4th studio album due out October 21st. Meanwhile country star Miranda Lambert ended her current tour and announced through a black and white visual on twitter that The Weights Of These Wings will be out November 18th.
 | Lambert has so far only released one song from her new studio set. “Vice” hasn’t lit up country radio yet, but there’s certainly time. Country radio is notoriously slow at adding new songs to their playlist. The song is drenched with emotion and regret and parallels the lead single “Came Here To Forget” that Blake Shelton started his 2016 album Based On A True Story with. |
The album should be notably heartbroken and personal. There’s a lot of pressure on the singer after the Grammy win for best country album for her last release Platinum. It gives her a chance to tell her side of the story in the cheating scandal that has only been talked about in metaphors and bluntness from Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Her song “Rare” off This Is What The Truth Feels Like features the notable line “only a stupid girl would let you go.”

“Vice” was not a bid for sympathy, but instead a reflection on the character flaws we all have. It should be interesting to see how much this album straddles the line between Miranda’s public persona of grittiness and emotional vulnerability.
