Trixie Mattel is an alum of RuPaul's Drag Race. She finished in sixth place on her respective season. And, in great drag queen tradition she is following in the steps of her peers and releasing music. Trixie is taking a different approach to the disposable electronic auto tuned trash of her peers, by being the first (?) to focus on... country music.

Hailing from Wisconsin, Trixie Mattel angles to be in the same league as Steve Grand with her EP Two Birds due out tomorrow. The most surprising thing about her single “Mama Don't Make Me Put On That Dress Again”? The substance. It not only sounds good, but it actually is... good.  

Trixie Mattel is bringing the same quality production that Adore Delano brings to her musical output. The title belies the serious nature of the song. It's not by any means a “parody” (a la Willam). It's introspective. Fans of Kacey Musgraves or The Pistol Annies may have just found their new queen. It won't conquer country radio, but it should.
