Sisters
December 18 The week before Christmas day. The joyous event of the year occurs. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey team up to give us the R rated comedy we've all been looking for. It looks slightly more tasteful then the one Will Farrell is bringing with Daddy's Home. Essentially, it is a reunion of all the essential cast members of SNL to give us a solid laugh. Maya Rudolph makes an appearance. It's a girls comedy that hopefully is just as good as The Bridesmaids. They even brought in the convict from The Mindy Project as the sexual female fantasy. |
The Danish Girl
December 25th Just in time to capitalize on the fixation with transgender topics. Eddie Redmayne is sure to receive an Oscar nod for his portrayal as Einar Wegener, one of the first people to receive gender reassignment surgery. It's received rave reviews and even features the always beautiful Amber Heard in a role. If I'm in the mood for a serious movie. This is the one I'll be seeing. The film is based off a bestseller by David Ebershoff of the same. There is no doubt that Eddie Redmayne is talented. He took home an academy award for best actor in The Theory of Everything last year and I have no doubt he will do more then an excellent job in this role. However, some criticism has been raised that a cisgender actor is portraying a transgender pioneer. |
