| Bebe Rexha got Lil Wayne to drop a verse on her new single “The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody)” that tragically isn't a reworking of a Timbaland classic. She performed the song accapella in Barcelona after declaring that it was so hot it looked like her “vagina was sweating” through her leotard. “The Way I Are” is refreshingly straight forward, sing a-long pop circa Kesha 2010 without the autotune and with more hip-hop. It's thankfully not trying too hard. So much pop is trying to be serious, to be just a little off kilter, “The Way I Are” comes for the throat. |
Key Lyric: Let's let our heart's bleed until they turn to rust Meant to be the lead off for her third EP All Your Fault: Pt. 2 the song is a bigger banger then previous collaboration with rap star Nicki Minaj on “No Broken Hearts”. Lil Wayne needs a chart hit for longevity sake and this could be it. He needs a hit and Bebe's solo material has been long over looked on pop radio.

Brandy Clark has written for some of the biggest names in country music. Reba, LeAnn Rimes, The Band Perry, Darius Rucker, Kacey Musgraves, and even Sheryl Crow when she took a turn to country music with her Feels Like Home album.
She's behind one of my personal favorite, Miranda hits “Mama's Broken Heart” and the Band Perry smash “Better Dig Two”.
The song has received positive critical acclaim and received public support from Sheryl Crow, who has also called for an end to bro country.
Conservative country radio listeners may also not appreciate that Brandy Clark is an open lesbian, even though “Girl Next Door” makes no direct reference to this. It may skewer some listeners from her. Melissa Etheridge is the only gay artist to have had continued success in country music even after she came out.

Brandy Clark's music is a refreshing change of pace to what country music has been saturated with and hopefully Big Day In A Small Town shifts a change in taste.
I was not really living for this show. Then, I saw the trailer and I was damn? Like, yes this story has been beaten like a dead horse, but I will invest, I will watch this. There's going to be some good acting in it. Hopefully some good writing and cinematography.
John Travolta is here as Robert Shapiro. One of the many men who defended OJ Simpson in the real trial that also including Robert Kardashian Senior and Johnny Cochran. John Travolta's wife in the TV show is going to be played by Charlie's Angel alumni Cheryl Ladd. Robert Kardashian is being represented by David Schwimmer. Yes. The one of the Friends variety David Schwimmer. Connie Britton's going to be there and Sarah Paulson is taking lead as Marcia Clark, the woman who took lead prosecuting OJ Simpson.
The show was created by Scott Alexander and Larry Karazewski. These names mean nothing to me. I've never heard of them. I'm sure their sexy and talented, but they're not on my radar. However, they do have Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk backing them as producers.
If I tried doing a Q&A there would be no questions. You my eight readers would be like, I hope one of the other seven asks a question. And, this is her first video. If that does not convince you of the star power behind this girl I don't know what will. She already had the following to launch a video and launch it with a Q&A.
Forewarning that her youtube channel is ten times better then mine. Her instagram is at least a million times more impressive then mine. Even, if it is all lips. I'm just fan girling from a hundred miles away and that's when you know that someone is a celebrity.
The one thing that you must be prepared for before you watch this video is her love for Fall Out Boy. Specifically, Pete Wentz. I think she wants to have his babies. Honestly, I was a little surprised when this came out so strongly in her video, although her tumblr should have put me onto this information.
Pete Wentz is 36 years old. Divorcee. Certainly not unattractive. Still it came to me as a surprise. I did not anticipate this as her type, but I only see her every two years. I can't say I can judge. I am also in love with a much older married man named Matt Bomer. We all have our vices.
Love yourself and watch her very first video. There is no news on when a follow up will be released. Compare it to my first video and understand why she's internet famous and I'm not. Also feel free to send me money for introducing you to Gamma Brother Cas. Meme loving freak.
I found out about his first novel, because an excerpt of it was put in Vogue. I can tell your judging me and that's fine. That's where I find out about all my literature. It's the reason I'm checking out Anna Erelle's In The Skin of a Jihadist. Which, should be absolutely fascinating.
Crazy Rich Asians plays with stereotypes. I feel like Kevin Kwan is playing with and criticizing the way Americans perceive and lump together Asian cultures. However, I have not taken the time to analyze it in this way. I really need one of my literature professors to read it and tell me what they think.
China Rich Girlfriend should be leaving us off where Crazy Rich Asians left us. With a solid ending and reasonable certainty that Nick and Rachel would be married.
It's received warm reviews much like the first one. It's funny. Original. Modern. It came out on the same day that a string of albums made there way into the world. Breathe In. Breathe Out, The Fool, Deja Vu. This novel starts before the ceremony.
It's guaranteed to be a heated mess. Where at first it seems only a little messy and then heat is applied to it so what was once a little mess is now even mesier.
During that horrible event I called the 12 Days of Bubbles, I did a Throwback Thursday on the first Pitch Perfect. Which, really is iconic. It gave us all those Glee vibes we were missing. Like, yes Glee was still on, but no one was watching it. That show was dead before they canceled it.
Now, I've rewatched the trailer, which of course is included below. And from what I can tell this is the basic outline of what is happening. The Barden Bellas (aka the protagonists) majorly fuck up at the beginning of the movie. They are removed from the acapella circuit. In order to get back in they compete in the World Championships.
In other vaguely exciting news. It is exciting. I just don't know. They have decided to make a Pitch Perfect 3. We haven't even decided if we liked the sequel and they're making a threequel. Please control yourselves. I swear this franchise is going to end up like The Fast and the Furious and ten movies later someone is going to tragically die and there won't be any more movies. I truly am questioning where they're going to go with this movie after winning the world championship. Are we going to discover aliens and have an intergalatic sing off? What exactly is the plan. That is what I want to know.
There will no doubt be a soundtrack release for the film. The original soundtrack was a big seller. The soundtrack is going to be in stores on May 12th and it features a new track by Ester Dean, "Crazy Youngsters"

Really, what Ester Dean is known for is her song writing. She's been behind some of the biggest pop smashes of this decade. She co-wrote this one new Nicki Minaj song “Hey Mama” that is going to blow up. I am not a David Guetta fan, but this song. It's kind of everything. I love it. I am obsessed. It is super catchy. She's also working with Britney Spears on her new album. Ester Dean is songwriter to the stars.

Hopefully, you know what an EP is, but it's basically a teaser, like half an album that's a drum roll to a full release. Now, Ester Dean was signed to a record deal, but she pulled out of that. I haven't heard of her signing with anyone else, so I suppose this music is all an independent release. It doesn't include any of the songs she's released recently. I love both “Get My Dough” and “Twerkin 4 Birk'n” (which is just as ratchet as you think it is). Juicy J even did an official remix for “Twerkin 4 Birk'n”. I'm honestly so confused as to what Ester Dean's career is right now.
She's also touring with Nicki Minaj this summer. I think it's only select dates, but who knows. The Pinkprint Tour will be everything. Tinashe is opening Trey Songz is coming along. Rae Sremmurd is going to show up. Kill it Nicki. I can't imagine a better line up if it included Beyonce. I'm just so ready.
These are six samplers of the songs she uploaded to YouTube and I've included a link to her soundcloud page, so you can listen to the full song at the bottom.

The concept behind this movie is that it tells the story of Alan Turing this scientist who along with a string of other people solved the enigma code during World War II. I do not know what the enigma code is, but it was very important that it was solved. It helped us win the war or something. I don't know.
Keira Knightley is one of the researchers and I'm sure she looked sexy as usual in the role. Benedict Cumberbatch was in the lead role as Alan Turing. Benedict Cumberbatch is well known for his role in the PBS series Sherlock, which I actually do shamelessly watch. I am not one of those fans who has thirsted over him. That is one thing I am proud to say I haven't done. The character that Benedict Cumberbatch plays in The Imitation Game is openly gay, which in the forties is not something you did. It is believed that he eventually ended up committing suicide because of it.
That really is kind of a driving point behind the movie is that the people who saved World War II were a woman, a gay man, and an Irish man. These were the unlikely people that helped the allies.
Now that really is all just background information on why Graham Moore is relevant, because most of us do not have a vast knowledge of screenplay writers. I did a live post on the Academy Awards, but at the point when Graham Moore came on I was exhausted. I didn't really talk about his speech.
After hearing this speech, I wanted to know more about him. What he said was very straight forward and it did not chase around the point. It made me want to know more about him. I read about him the next day and all I found was that he wasn't 'gay'.
That actually wasn't the question I was asking. It's when he said “she's different or she doesn't fit in” I thought that was a very interesting pronoun choice. Most of the time you use pronouns that you identify with and it made me wonder if Graham Moore didn't identify as a male. In which case I'm using the wrong pronouns, and if you know more then I do on the subject let me know so I can change the pronouns I refer to him by. There's really never a reason not to talk about suicide. It's such a prevalent solution, that should never be so prevalent. Robin Williams last year, a member of the girl group G.R.L. killed herself, I know someone personally who did it recently. I don't think it's enough for me to say don't do it, someone cares, because once you're at the point you don't think anyone cares, and you just think everything's shitty.
We all have bad days and bad months, and Lord knows bad years. There will always be something better. Always. I really think it's important to find someone that you can talk to about things. That you can be brutally open with. That's what I have with Boomer. I can tell him anything, and I really hope he feels the same way about me.
Cry if you want to. Get in the shower and just cry. You are allowed to have problems and you are allowed to be depressed and you are not broken because of it. These are all things that Graham Moore brought up in less then 30 seconds for everyone to see. That's why I'm so enamored by his speech.
I really don't want to read about another suicide in my life. I don't want there to be another Leelah Alcorn. I want you to realize that you are fine just the way you are. You are not a disappointment. You are not worthless. You are not stupid. Somebody loves you and somebody cares about you and you can always count your favorite blogger in that list. Whatever your peers say or the transphobic, homophobic bullshit that your parents say to you every day. Suicide will never be the answer. Don't think that it is, because it's not even an option. You don't need to change a single thing, because you're already perfect. |
