Reality star. Socialite. Media Mogul. Singer, Paris Hilton has graced the world with a new song. I have to let you know that I'm already biased towards this song. I love Paris Hilton. I'm not sure why. It might be because the world at large is set on hating her, but I enjoy her antics.
The Simple Life would not have been the same without Paris and Nicole, and no matter how you feel about them. They had an obvious friendship. The funniest thing to me listening to Paris's latest grab at Top Forty fodder is that in the credits for The Simple Life, they listed Nicole Richie as a singer. And, yet here we are in 2014 with Paris working on releasing her second studio album, while the only thing Nicole has done musically in make guest appearances in music videos. Oh, how the tables have turned.
I'm not sure if you remember “Stars Are Blind”. It was a shimmery reggae bit. Paris Hilton's only “hit single”. I heard it on the radio a few times, but it never really went anywhere. Paris has always been polarizing. Her voice is pleasant, reedy, but pleasant. So, it's not a shock she didn't shoot to the top.

No matter how good a Paris Hilton song is, it needs to be “Like a Virgin” iconic to make a dent on the airwaves. Her album, Paris was an enjoyable listen. Certainly on par with or even better then other pop albums of the time. Think, Hilary Duff, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears.
I thought this album was a one time thing. A guilty pleasure to remember from my childhood. It wasn't until last year that twitter exploded when Cash Money signed her to a record deal. From there we got a frothy beat of EDM with “Good Time”, but certainly not a hit. There was chatter, but I thought it was over.
Then, we get a confirmation of “Come Alive”. A video is being filmed. Another single called “High Off My Love” is in the works. It's released. We listen. Is it going to be a hit for her? No.
I like it. It's very nice. But, I just can't imagine this being a top ten song. Could it chart if it was by any other singer? Yes, it most certainly could. But, it still wouldn't be a hit. Mind you, Paris could never get away with singing “We R Who We R”. The public would slam her for it. Paris has a very narrow box into which she can record a hit song, and not be ruined. Really the fact that there's any trace of auto tune in this song, worries me.
