Young Enough

I'm fairly sure I told you that you could shoot me if I didn't write an article about the new TV show that Hilary Duff is starring in on TV Land. Life is not always the easiest, but that's really not the way I want to go.

When asked what my blog consists of the answer is almost always Hilary Duff and Madonna. Hilary Duff is the first CD I ever bought. She is my immortal queen. Needless to say her return to television is something I have to herald.  

The new show is called Younger and it's going to premiere on TV Land on Tuesday's at 10/9 central. I will not be watching as I do not have cable, however I will be buying the first season when it comes out on DVD and there will more then likely be a Friday Favorites on the subject. 

Some positives about the show is that it is a female driven cast. More rare then it should be and with the cancellation of Hot in Cleveland, Younger will have to be that strong female lead return. Downsides include that Hilary Duff is not starring in the main role.

It's this girl named Sutton Foster. I opened her wikipedia page. I didn't really recognize anything. She's pretty enough. She is going to be playing a 20 something new hire working from the bottom, just like Hilary.

Debi Mazar will be playing Sutton Foster's best friend. I love Debi Mazar. She was on Ugly Betty for like two episodes and she is in one of my favorite childhood movies, Beethoven 2. She is an irrelevant Queen and I love her.

In the most exciting turn of events Miriam Shor will be playing the head boss bitch at the company. This role is for her to nail. I love Miriam Shor. She starred in a very similar role on the canceled all too soon, GCB. 

What then is the twist in this show? Sutton Foster is actually a recently divorced single mother who is 40, not 20. She is pretending to be younger (hence the title) in order to get a start from the bottom. This show is going to be a mess. I don't know if it's going to be a good mess. Which is why we're going to watch the pilot episode at the end of the month.

TV Land is very hit and miss on their comedy. They nailed Hot In Cleveland. The Exes and Retired at 35 were a mess. Granted I only watched the first episode, but if you don't kill the first episode why do you expect me to watch the second. And, I think the Soul Man is funny, but that's a spin off of Hot In Cleveland. Here's to hoping that TV Land kills it with Younger. 

Also in related news Hilary Duff has gone from being separated from her husband to actually filing the divorce papers. It breaks my heart. I want her to be happy, but this part of me wants her to stay with him and have A Cinderella Story ending. When I first found out she was separated from him I was stuck in traffic on the way home from school and I cried. Balling in stand still traffic. I'm such a mess.
