Now, I like Troye. He's Australian. He's a youtuber you either know from his own channel or from his frequent guest appearances on Tyler Oakley's channel. I personally don't like Troye's own videos. I just feel like he tries to hard to make us laugh, but what he doesn't seem to realize is that he's a friend in our head. If he just talked to us about his life I would be hear for it. When, Troye really shines is when he's just himself with no pretenses. That's why everyone has learned to love him through his interactions with Tyler.
But, this brings me back to the point of today. Troye's music. Now I want to say that I knew Troye sang, but I wasn't even really aware of who Tyler Oakley was until about a year ago. I try so hard to be culturally relevant and I constantly find ways to fail. I had to have known he sang, though, because it didn't surprise me. I feel like I knew he did covers like Karmin used to.
Must be why he covered Taylor Swift's “Tell Me Why”. It was perfect for him. His voice is very nice. Sweet is how I would describe it. I wouldn't say I'm eagerly anticipating the release of TRXYE. I've only heard two of his original songs. Both of which I like. And, the lead single off of TRXYE “Happy Little Pill” is fantastic. I definitely think I'll be buying it. |
Be sure to check out TRXYE when it comes out on the 15th. I know I will be. Also catch this song “Dumb Ways to Die” he covered. Apparently this went viral a few years ago, but I just found out about it because Troye covered it. I'm in love.
