I went to Zurich and Basel this weekend. Their both in Switzerland and I can honestly say I had a great time. I went with another American from school. When asked by a classmate if she had a boyfriend, I answered for her, "Ella muerta solo" (which translates to "She death alone"). Zurich was amazing. We walked along Lake Zurich for the most of it. We didn't actually spend any money in Zurich doing touristy things. We went to the Botanical gardens (disappointing) took pictures with the Alps (exciting!) tried on Burberry jeans on Bronschofen street, and bought a pizza. Apparently pizza is a big deal in Switzerland. They love it. They also love fondue, but 30.00+ in Swiss Francs did not sound like a good idea. |
Beer is cheaper here then water. You can buy six cans of beer for roughly 60 cents and you can't even get one bottle of water for that price it's crazy. We went to Basel the next day and took the train. It's the only way to see Switzerland. Mountains everywhere. Rivers. Snow. Countryside. I really enjoy traveling by rail. It's liberating and less intensive then flying. |
