 Dolce & Gabana | Strength is the ultimate message when it comes to fashion. The clothes you wear are supposed empower you and what better to do that a military coat? No matter what anyone says, a military coat never goes out of style. It's eternal like a good pair of jeans. Thankfully, the biggest fashion houses of the world agreed with me this year. Military coats littered the runways of Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Givenchy, and Gucci. Burberry also gave it's stamp of approval and when it comes to coats, who knows better then Burberry what to keep the rain out? |
My personal favorite this season was one from Dolce & Gabana. Vogue described it as a “short scarlet tunic with gold braiding instantly summoning echoes of the Napoleonic Wars.” I was too American to see anything other then the “British are coming!” but that's not a way of saying I wouldn't wear it.

A particular note of interest on the military coats is that they do not adhere to this year's trend towards over sized. They tend to be form fitting and at the very least tailored. Where our pant legs are over bloomed 70s regality, our military jackets keep our body heat close to us.
