Gwen Stefani made me a liar.

During the week of Fergie, I said how we hadn't heard anything from Gwen Stefani. Now I proofread. Kind of. I mean you read the blog, you know, how rough the written language is when I do it. So, I said, yes the Throwback Thursday on Fergie is ready. That week Gwen drops “Baby Don't Lie”

I'm sitting here thinking my articles are perfect, when I am bored and reading my article and I see it mentioned that Gwen had not released any new solo material. That was a very wrong conclusion. Because, she had. Just that week. 

Granted. I guess that's not really that big of a problem. Considering I posted the Throwback Thursday and the Snapshot Saturday on the same day. My life is so rough. I hope you enjoyed that double whammy, because it was not my intention at all.

Now according to Gwen we shall have her new album in December. That is very exciting. Hopefully there will be more information on this for when I talk about the music coming out in December. Now Gwen hasn't released anything since, The Sweet Escapeback in 2006.

I along with the rest of the world has always preferred Gwen's solo career over that with No Doubt. So, we were all a little put off that she refused to put out more solo material. Or, so she claimed. Now in 2014 after the commercial failure that was the last No Doubt album, we have new Gwen material.

Thank you. Granted she teased us with new material a few years ago when she did her Harajuku children's line for Target. There was a new song in the background with her singing. That is how she introduced parts of The Sweet Escape to us way back when. Nothing came of it. I was like you bitch.

Needless to say I am obsessed with “Baby Don't Lie”. It's like this reggae, hip-hop island mid-tempo-ballad that slays me. It also has some interesting writing credits. Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco. You should know Ryan Tedder as the lead vocalist for One Republic. He's always written a lot of music for people. It's a list of people. Hilary Duff, Beyonce, Colbie Caillait, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Adele, Kelly Clarkson. He kills the game.

You might not know Benny Blanco, but he's this rapper/ DJ combo that I'm here for. He's had a lot of those really obnoxious hits. The man's worked with Katy Perry and Ke$ha. That comes as no surprise.

It probably also explains why there are repetitions of words in “Baby Don't Lie”. Does it make it catchier? Yes. Does it bother me. No, not really. I love it. Even, the little rap breakdown is for me. I'm just like take me, Gwen.

Needless to say I will keep you up to date. The album is going to be a high point of my life. And, if this song is any representation. It will be great.
