Paris Jackson Modeling!!!

It might take a minute for you top place the name. Paris Jackson. You think of all the Jackson's you know, before you realize this is Paris Jackson. Michael Jackson's daughter. The same one that shares a name with a Hilton heiress.

We haven't seen much of her since her father's death, but there have been rumblings that she was making her way into society. I was waiting for her first single. She may be from a musical prodigy, but even she would have a hard time competing with one of the best selling artists of all time. She would be the next Lisa Marie Presley, or in this case Latoya.

Paris Jackson is making her debut as part of a Chanel campaign. In the released photos she look's like strikeningly like an 80s era Madonna (more so then Madonna's own daughter Lourdes). Her looks reminds me even of a Bangerz era Miley Cyrus.I think this is perfect for her. She collects her check. She gets dolled up, does a few commercials, and in a few years (after a few acting lessons) she can conquer television.

This is the perfect amount of Paris. We get to see her smiling. See her doing good and she gets to make her way among Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls, and Cara Delevigne.

ABC is killing the game. Literally and figuratively.

In a highly inventive new television show Quantico there will be FBI recruits, sabotage, golden boys, and terrorism. All playing into America's deep rooted fears of a terrorist attack. The show is going to play with those conventionalities that have made Homeland such a runaway hit for Showtime.

The reason I discovered this show is because of actress Priyanka Chopra. I did a Snapshot Saturday on her entitled Drop Dead Priyanka (read here). I was trying to title it as a variation on “drop dead beautiful” and looking back on it I realize I didn't do a great job on that.

She is a beauty pageant queen. She was very successful at it. Imagine Vanessa Williams in the eighties. Priyanka is gorgeous. She's also a phenomenal actress and women's right's activist in India. She's really an amazing woman.

She will be starring as the lead Alex Parrish. From what I've been able to gather from the trailer, she is an independent woman. She is very confident with her sexuality.

This show is set up to be a thriller. The central concept is that it's a flashback to her days in training at Quantico. One of the people she trained with committed this terrorist act on American soil and she's been set up for it.

Over the course of the season it should focus on her times training and her current situation of trying to discover who set her up. There's the golden boy. The one who's beautiful to look at, but only got in because his parents are agents. Jake McLaughlin is set up to be her love interest. More then likely he will not be the traitor.

There's a whole slew of other characters here to misdirect and throw suspicion. It will be intersting to see if this show does well. It airs on Sunday's. A tough time slot to say the least. Pan AM, GCB, 666 Park Avenue were three shows canceled consecutively in the same time slot Quantico is set for.

This is going to be Priyanka's debut to American audiences who are widely unaware of her superstar status in India. She's tried to launch a music career here, but neither Pitbull assisted “Exotic” or Bonnie Raitt cover “I Can't Make You Love Me” clung to American radio.

If this show is the success it has the possibility of being, this could be what gives Priyanka a leg up in the music industry. See Jennifer Lopez and Ariana Grande for examples.

I haven't been able to watch it, yet. Tragically I work on Sunday's, but I have high hopes for it. Honestly, I'm going to catch up over the winter break and report back to you. Trying to keep up with Scream Queens and America's Next Top Model is the struggle right now.

Make sure to checkout Quantico on ABC. It airs on Sunday's at 10/9 central. They've only aired a few episodes, so there's still time to catch up before it's season finale later this year.

Not The Island

Manila Luzon is one of America's favorite drag queens or my favorite drag queen. It's basically the exact same thing. Manila Luzon is a combination of the largest island in the islands Philippines and the capitol. Fun little geography lesson from Bubble Righted.

Manila Luzon is drag queen royalty. She was in a serious relationship with Sahara Davenport (winner of the seconds season of RuPaul's Drag Race) before Sahara passed away from heart failure a few years ago. It was the most tragic thing that ever happened. RuPaul said something along the lines of how he think of all of his girls as eternal. It was heartbreaking.

The first album that Manila ever released was entitled Eternal Queen and it was dedicated to Sahara. Because, yes in great drag queen history, Manila also sings. Questionably of course. Manila describes her voice as “super fake sounding”. They're kind of perfect. All of the music is dance oriented trash, but that's okay.

My personal favorite is “Hot Couture”. The video is precious. I also feel her duet with Latrice Royale “The Chop”. They premiered this song right after they both got kicked off the All Stars season of Drag Race. That was probably the most disappointing thing that ever happened. I love Latrice and Manila and they both deserved to go further then that.

I love RuPaul's Drag Race. This is the most perfect show that's ever existed. The Mayor and Miss Sara Bellum and I watch this show religiously together. It's kind of our thing. It is the glitter glue that binds our love for each other together. My favorite season is season 3. That's the season that Manila was on. She killed it. How many other queens could pull off a pineapple the way she did. No one.

This season was full of shade and drama. The popular queens labeled themselves as “Heathers”. A reference to the classic eighties dark comedy The Heathers. And, proceeded to call all the other queens “boogers”. It was cold. How to be a bully. That is what that show really taught us that season. It was amazing. Those queens did not rest until they got rid of every single booger remaing on RuPaul's Drag Race. Carmen Carrera was on it that season. .

She's attempting to be the first transgendered Victoria Secret's model and she could do it. Carmen is sexy and I love her. Not everyone feels her the way I do, but I have soft spot for her. She kills it and I love it.

In totally unrelated news, I was at this event recently where there was this boy who looked exactly like Christian Slater in The Heathers. As great as that is. Like he was cute and all, but let's be real. I was a little afraid that he had a plan to mass murder everyone. That might be unreasonable, but you obviously haven't seen The Heathers as many times as I have.

The first time I watched that movie was with the twins. We were baby freshmen. We should not have been watching that movie, but we loved it. I've made so many people watch it. Thunder and Rosencrantz love it. J Lo is not into it. Whatever. She can be boring.

Side note that Manila Luzon makes club appearances. If she is in your city. Go see her. She's amazing. She might even perform “Helen Keller”. Probably one of the most offensive songs in existence, but most certainly labeled as one of my guilty pleasures.

Lick My Biscuit

“That's a metaphor for the vagina.”

But, is it though?

It honestly did not come as a surprise to me, but I was channeling English teacher when I finally realized the “biscuit” that Ivy Levan was talking about was her vagina. My professor makes everything sexual and I want to whip my chinese fan out at her and say NO.

I discovered Ivy Levan as one does. By looking at the dance charts. I liked her name and liked the name of the song. “Biscuit” just stands out in a crowd of “I Want You To Know” and “One Last Time”. The song is classified under “swamp pop” whatever the fuck that means and I am obsessed with everything.

Ivy Levan is a stunning deep voiced songstress that I feel intrinsically. I've watched all her music videos and she is a stunning ethereal goddess. Apparently Adam Lambert likes her and I like Ivy Levan. I can see this song being a breakout hit of the year. She certainly stands out in a crowd.

She's also a model. No surprise there. I love a good model. I just really like her look and her aesthetic. She has three music videos that play into this 50's screen siren look and I like them all. The music is not quite as catchy as “Biscuit”, but they don't disappoint.

My personal favorite is “The Dame Says”. It doesn't have a music video, but the lyric video is disturbing enough for all of us. Now, I haven't searched her name on Tumblr. I want to live for her music before I found out how problematic she is and all the reasons I shouldn't like her. And, she is a southerner. I'm sure they can find something.

This one girl I know is southern as fuck. She loves big trucks and boys with names like “Preston” and “Beau”. And, she told me I loved southerners and I was like no. The only southerner I actively love is Chris Crocker. The south is the kind of place you avoid unless you happen to run into a Golden Girls marathon.

Ivy has also convinced me that I need this sweater with the word “loser” emblazoned across it. I am not spending a hundred dollars on a sweater especially not when it's about to be miserable in anything but a crop top. That changes nothing. I want it. I want it all over my body.

I could be just as pretty as her. I just see stills of her and I'm like “Hot DAMN” (a title of one of her songs). No word yet on when or if she's releasing an album this year. But, we shall see.

She Is Me

The Mindy Project is a show you should be aware of. I watched it sporadically for the longest time. It's a funny show. The reason I didn't invest in season one, was because of ABC's Don't Trust The Bitch In Apartment 23. That show is better, then The Mindy Project.

However, it is not longer with us. ABC cancelled it. Just like ABC cancels everything. Too quickly and without an adequate resolution. Thank you for that.

This obsession with The Mindy Project has been building up, since I bought the first season after getting sushi out with Thunder and her sister J. Lo. I went into Best Buy, just planning on buying Calvin Harris's album 18 Months. I leave with Calvin Harris and the first season of The Mindy Project.

It was a good time in my life back when I was working too much, but had more then enough money to buy whatever I wanted. Now I exist.

I have been making slow, but steady progress on this season. Whenever, I have thirty minutes where I know I am not going to do anything, I'm like lets watch The Mindy Project.

Mindy is me. Pop culture obsessed. Cute. Adorable. Witty. A questionably good employee. The kind of person who asks the important questions in life. She is perpetually single and for the most part is okay with that. She is a resilient feminine woman.

I however do not have the stamina or nerve to become an OBGYN. Sorry, world I do not have any intentions of entering the medical world. I do not want to deliver your baby. That really does not appeal to me. I'm sorry if I just ruined your dreams for me.

The work environment in this show, however I can handle. I could do that. You have crass nurse, Beverly. Former convict, Morgan. Who is the strangest part of the show. The virgin and the slut as receptionists. And, Mindy's two male colleagues. Danny, the strong male figure from Staten Island, and Dr. Reed the attractive British OBGYN that Mindy has casual sex with.

A great sitcom is where you bond with every character. That is The Mindy Project. Morgan can be annoying as hell, but I love him. I love what he adds to this show. I love seeing Mindy stumble her way through love in New York.

If you haven't seen it. Give it a chance. Comedy is really subjective. The world is obsessed with Forrest Gump. I saw the movie once. I made my effort to be culturally aware. I'm over it. You might like it. You might not. I don't know.

Watch the show. Netflix it. Watch it on Fox. It comes on Tuesday's at 9:30/8:30 central.
