Former Gossip front woman Beth Ditto
  | Gucci recently hosted it's 2018 Cruise Collection in Florence, Italy. The show sported 115 looks and although the opulent Palatine Gallery may seem luxe enough, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele originally wanted to showcase the collection at the Parthenon- in Athens. The Greek influence was also present during the Chanel extravaganza in Paris a few weeks ago. The debut saw appearances from Elton John, Salma Hayak, Dakota Johnson, Jared Leto, and Kirsten Dunst to name just a few. Alt-rock star Beth Ditto performed her latest single “Fire” for Gucci and Vogue name the self proclaimed “fat lesbian feminist from Arkansas” as the best dressed person in attendance. Ditto's first solo album Fake Sugar is due out June 16th. |
The show saw Gucci become “guccy” for one model, emblazoned with the pearl studded lettering on her chest. The show had wolves, graphics, the double g's, and everything else a dedicated Gucci fan could want. Janelle Okwudu said of the collection that it's “wild patterns and high flying colors flatter a (…) wide range of ages.”
