 | Fall 2016 is upon us and an elite group of up and comers are storming fashion week. There was some particular hype around the debut collection of a brand called Atlein. Not surprising considering the designer behind the collection, Antonin Tron, won the ANDAM this year. An award to highlight fresh talent and better kept at abbreviation. ANDAM stands for Association Nationale pour le Developpment des Arts de la Mode. A mouthful even for a native French speaker. Antonin Tron was more then qualified to start his own line. He's worked under and for people associated with all the top brands: Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Balenciaga, a brand he still does free lance work for. |
In his debut collection Tron focused heavily on seperates and jersey dresses. I've always been a fan of jersey dresses. They can be casual. They can be dressed up and they almost always have a little bit of synthetic stretch to them. And, when your spending $1,680 on a dress, versatility is paramount.

The collection is not awe inspiring and it could certainly use a deeper color palette, something the designer says will come, but it shows that his comparisons to Azzedine Alaia were not unfounded. Although, ever since the shoe designers verbal attacks on Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld I haven't been a fan.
