I'm Feeling BOMBASTIC

Recently, your favorite neighborhood blogger had a celebrity run in with everyone's favorite chart topper singer songwriter Bonnie McKee. If you've been reading this blog long enough, you know of my unconditional love for her.

She's written for all of music's biggest stars. Katy Perry, Kesha, Britney Spears, Taio Cruz, Christina Aguilera, Adam Lambert, just to name a few.

Now I did not just stumble upon Bonnie McKee in everyone's favorite corner convenience store as I told my parents. I saw her live and in concert when she performed at a Pride. The woman is fantastic live. The vocals are raw. The bass is loud. She can do an upside down booty clap live and in person.

Bonnie McKee is inspired by all things eighties. The leg warmers, the neon colors, the workout themed music videos reminiscent of Olivia Newton-John's “Physical”. She's the pop star the world has been waiting for and there has still yet to be justice for her underrated single “American Girl”. The song that convinced me to find love at a 7/11 parking lot.

I heard her say to a fan that her upcoming album should be released sometime “next year”. I'm glad someone asked the real questions. I just told her how pretty she was and how “obsessed” I am with her. It might not have been the best choice of words.

She's still promoting 2015's fantastic EP Bombastic. It features four songs that show off her range and deftness as a songwriter. She's also noted her intention to make it a “visual EP”, although a music video for final song “Easy” has yet to be released. After seeing her live it reignited how in love I was with it and proves why she's one of pop's most desirable hitmakers.

The latest music video to be released from the singer. It features an eighties dance battle and a killer chorus. It's no wonder it was chosen to open the tracklist. The most straight forward pop of the album, it's arguably my favorite. It sparkles with new shine on the Vicetone Remix

In the hands of a major record label this could have been Bonnie McKee's breakout hit. It has an overly sexualized visual aid, a sea of instantly quotable lyrics, hooks that come in from each side with the“I came to win, win, win” or the reverberated “woah oh oh oh” at the end of every chorus. It's quirky and a radio standout.

The midtempo ballad centers the EP the idea that youth is wasted on the young. The visual finds people taking baths in fruit loops, girls adjusting booty shorts, fights in bubble wrap suits, and most scandalously people jumping in the pool with their clothes on. More importantly the track finds her flexing her vocal ability.

McKee revealed before she started this song that it was inspired by the break up of an eight year relationship. She fell into the arms of a tatted man, dark and handsome, who wanted more then she was able to give. It's a touching ballad that finds her addressing the inability to give oneself completely to another after heartbreak and just wanting something “easy”. It's yet to receive the visual treatment, but that's sure to come.

I found a blog I enjoy reading.

This is ground breaking. If you've been a dedicated Bubble Righted reader you know that I don't really talk about other bloggers I like. The only one I stand for hardcore is Cherie Cheezcake, because she's a queen. It's not that I don't want to talk about other bloggers it's that I don't really know how to find other blogs. But, I actually found a blogger I enjoy reading.

Picture it. It's about August 31st and I'm going through my twitter feed and I see that Havana Brown is talking about her song “Battle Cry”. I'm fan girling of course. This song is fucking amazing. I am living. I am living for the video.

If you didn't know that I'm obsessed with Havana Brown, I'm sorry that I have let this slip by. She is sexy. She is talented. She's my favorite Australian next to Olivia Newton-John. She's amazing. I featured her in an article I did called “Last Night A DJ Saved My Life” (read here) and I reviewed her album Flashing Lights (read here).

So, it's really not surprising that Havana Brown has brought me to another blogger. You don't understand there is a strong possibility that I'm studying abroad during the spring semester and my top reason for picking Australia is so I can see Havana Brown doing a club set, on tour, whatever. She's a goddess.

This blogger Nick Tredrea reviewed her song and it was a short little piece, but all of his reporting was on point. So, I was like why not read more of his blog. I ended up reading every single thing over the course of two days. It was a holy experience if I'm being brutally honest.

The only time I was a little side eyed was when I couldn't tell if he was throwing some shade at Madonna. My blog might as well be renamed madonna.com. You know I'm obsessed, but I said to myself he's promoting Madonna. And, I decided not to be crazy and let it go.

I think my favorite thing about his blog is his fashion articles. It's something I want to do on this blog, but I don't. I love fashion. I read my Vogue from cover to cover every month. I enjoyed his fashion commentary. I'm actually just obsessed with his blog.

He also has a YouTube channel. Right now there's only a few videos. I don't know what the posting schedule is. I think it's funny. I really enjoyed it. It's certainly better then mine.

Omega, Alpha, And Beta

As usual I am behind the trends, I just started watching Teen Wolf. Isn't this a surprise. I am almost always talking about music, but this week here I am telling you about Kingdom and Teen Wolf. This is an anomaly.

Now I am obsessed with Teen Wolf. Much like Kingdom, I am not watching it for the quality story line. I'm just slowly realizing how much of a whore I am, and I'm okay with that. At this point in time you probably understand the general idea of Teen Wolf. There are werewolves, werewolf hunters, high school.

I actually started watching it, because of Tumblr. I just said this looks like my show. Hot boys and hot girls. What could possibly go wrong.

The four male leads are just take me now kind of hot. Tyler Posey is the main one. And, he is definitely attractive, but really it's his eyes. He has dimples and cute brown eyes. I'm just like slay me. He's just really cute.

Just like Dylan O'Brien. He is not hot in the typical sense. He isn't hot, actually. He's just cute child, that I can't even handle. I am also confused by his character. Is he bisexual or is he gay. I just don't know. In the show his character is obsessed with this girl named Lydia, but he asked this one gay guy if he was attractive. It real messes me up. Dylan O'Brien should be everyone's baby. I love his character. He is the only reason I went to see The Maze Runner.

Then, there is Colton Haynes. He is straight sex. I try to like his character, because he is so attractive. I just watch the show and I want him to take my body. Then, he opens his mouth and I'm not here for it. I was actually really feeling him towards the end of season 1, then he messed it up. Now, I'm trying to like him, so I can shamelessly be obsessed with him. If you follow me on tumblr you probably now how obsessed I am. Like all my tumblr was pictures of him for a minute there.

At the top of the food chain is Tyler Hoechlin. Now he is attractive, but he's such a father figure to me. He's kind of like a DILF. Which, I might add is the creepiest thing. Who started this as a thing. No. We should not want to have sex with people who we think of as our fathers. Just stop.

The women are just as cute. Crystal Reed and Holland Roden are everything to me. Their friendship is weird. I don't get it, but I like it. One of them plays the whore and I'm here for it. I just love Holland Roden as Lydia. Lydia is one of my favorite characters, although I did not start out liking her. Crystal Reed's character is the main love interest, but the thing is I just don't care about her love with Tyler Posey.

This show is kind of like Orange is the New Black in that sense. No one really cares about the problems of the two main characters. It's kind of like, shut up about it already. I want them to move on.

The plot itself is basic. It kind of scares me. That's so embarrassing, but I cover my eyes when I watch this show sometimes. I'm not good at handling that kind of stress.

There are also a lot of wholes in the plot. In the first season this one character kept dying. There is blood coming from his mouth. He has to be dead. Next episode. No explanation, no one acts like it's weird that he is among the living.

Or the other time he gets shot multiple times with a bow and arrow, then shot in the heart with a gun. He is dead. The two killers are not even bothering with him. Then, the big bad werewolf comes along, and this character miraculously is able to take him down. Like how did he go from dead to I'm in perfect condition to beat up my stronger opponent.

Writers. Think through your life choices. I'm going to have to start reading fan fiction to explain all the gaping holes. That being said. It is actually enjoyable. It has substance. Unlike Kingdom, I really do like watching it.

If you judge me for watching it, I feel you, I understand. But, to be honest I'm not really watching it for the plot. And, I'm okay with that.
