With The Gilmore Girls returning for a reboot the day after Thanksgiving it's time for a brief run through of what was a successful seven year run. The Gilmore Girls were fast talking, Connecticut girls, full of pop culture references, and mother-daughter love. I do have a confession to make. I was never the biggest supporter of Rory (Alexis Biedel). She was for all intensive purposes, a brat. I'm currently rewatching and binging as best I can, although I've only made steady progress through season one. It's funny. Season one predicates that Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory never keep secrets from each other and yet that is the source of tension the entire season. Rory's coming of age is chronicled throughout the show, season 7 ending with her covering the campaign trail for the 2008 election. |
