No power ballad has ever come close to topping Titanic's love theme. “My Heart Will Go On” reigned for two weeks at number one in the United States and Dion performed the song at the Billboard Music Awards this year in order to honor it's storied history. The song has been called “corny”, Kate Winslet reportedly hates the song, but it's stood the enduring test of time. Celine Dion had to be coerced by her manager to sing it. James Cameron didn't want the song to close his film. But, what does the 21st century have to top it? “A Thousand Years”? “I Don't Wanna Live Forever”? |
Celine said of the song that every night before she performs she says, “I'm not going to sing that song again (…) then (…) I think (…) what a song. What a moment.”
