There's just something about Timbaland. I love his music. He's a relatively famous record producer. He's on the level of RedOne, Rick Rubin, Mike-Will-Made-It. He's been producing music since the 90's and he's behind some of the biggest names in hip hop. Timbaland is responsible for most of Justin Timberlake's musical output and he's a driving force behind Missy Elliot
There was a moment when Timbaland had a viable solo career. Hopefully, you remember this. He had two albums (Shock Value and Shock Value II respectively). Their set up in this very movie format way that I can't really explain. I'm definitely more of a fan of the first Shock Value. The second one might be more poppy, but Timb hid his vocals under it. And, I really like the raw factor that his unprocessed vocals have.
The One Republic song “Apologize” is also on it, because yes Timbaland worked with One Republic. His second album really had that song “Carry Out” as a serviceable hit, but Shock Value II is fun.
Timbaland is also behind my favorite Nelly Furtado era. He's the one that relaunched her career. Because, she had that song “Like a Bird”, then her second album bombed. And, then she went slick R&B with “Promiscious” and we all loved it. Loose is an amazing album. Please go buy it if it is not in your collection. |
In a just as important side note. Something is coming you way April 30th, so definitely check out the blog, to tell me how awesome I am.
