I've become enamored with Christina after I saw a screening of The Girl King. It was full of solid enough acting to be palatable and lots of lol's (lots of lesbians). There were only two, but since the lead was head lesbian I think it counts. Especially given the particular social climate of Europe during that time period.
Queen Christina faced backlashes for her lesbian infatuations. Her predisposition to love women was determined to be a result of her “being raised like a man”. Queen Christina was commonly known for dressing masculinely, but that was a tactic also picked up by Queen Elizabeth I of England in order to solidify her authority.
