Third Term President

Obama's approval ratings having only continued to increase with this year's elections. 2016 was the year that conservatives could describe a third term with Obama as “palatable”. The election cycle for the 45th president of the United States has been tumultuous and has been a rallying cry for curtailing how long politicians can campaign for office. Sheryl Crow is petitioning for a six month election cycle and has received support from Bette Midler and other A-list stars.

The 22nd amendment officially made a two term presidency the law of the nation, but it didn't stop a multiple term presidency from happening. Only one president has ever served more then eight years, and that was Franklin D. Roosevelt.  

He served from 1933-1945, shouldering America through the Great Depression with the New Deal as well as holding the Allies together during World War II. He was a prolific Democrat and I've always had a deep love for his wife Eleanor that's rumored lesbianism has always been topic of mystery.  

Franklin D. Roosevelt may have been the only president to serve more then two terms, but he wasn't the first to think. Everyone's favorite equal opportunity racist Andrew Jackson also toyed with it before throwing his support behind his VP, Martin Van Buren.

Tuesday, November 8th is the official election day this year. It should be historic one way or the other.
