 Matt Roberts | Guitarist Matt Roberts passed away at the age of 38 this August. No one knows who guitarists are, but my sister knew the band. 3 Doors Down was a lingering hangout of the grunge scene that was so prevalent in the nineties. They had a few multiplatinum albums and a string of hit singles to make them more then just a sidenote of the 2000s The funny thing about them is the day before I saw my sister I'd heard their song “Kryptonite” on the radio. For some reason I misaligned the lyrical content with that of the Daughtry recording “Waiting For Superman”. |
My sister must have forgotten my mother's reliance on Christian radio and Celine Dion as I was growing up and she insisted I invest sometime into this band. I have to say I like them. I haven't bought an album, or even started listening to their 6x platinum debut The Better Life. However, I've listened to the hits cursory and recognizable.
 | Any of their major successes “Kryptonite”, “When I'm Gone”, or “Here Without You” have radio worthy stamp on them and our perfect representations of what rock music was allowed to be in the 2000s pop scene. 3 Doors Down is currently on tour supporting their 2016 album Us And The Night. |
