Janelle Monae

R&B songstress, topic of this Snapshot Saturday, and incredibly beautiful. She is on the Naomi Campbell, Joan Smalls level beautiful. Whenever, I see a picture of her I'm always struck by how pretty she is. It honestly makes me so mad that there are people who knock me down. I'm a solid 4 in good lighting, but when you acknowledge these goddesses I'm like a 2 plus. It just doesn't go well for me.

There is no reason you shouldn't know who Janelle Monae is. She's been nominated for a few Grammy's. Both of her albums The Electric Lady and The Arch Android were critically acclaimed. I haven't listened to any of the music on either one, but I know multiple people who swear by her music. She also got Solange for one of her songs and the music of Solange Knowles is everything. Also, the album covers are flawless, so there's that.

Her big claim to fame is the female vocalist on fun.'s breakout hit “We Are Young”. Don't you remember when that was our jam. I lived for that song. Honestly a little bit of me misses fun. Like sure I lived for Nate Ruess dueting with P!NK on “Just Give Me A Reason”, but I want more. I'm sure they'll be back sooner or later.

No surprise she is also one of the Cover Girl's. She's so effortlessly perfect and she just pulls off a tuxedo. Janelle is just this mysterious figure of stunning beauty and I honestly can't handle it. She was literally was once quoted as saying “the lesbian community has tried to claim me, but I only date androids”. What does that even mean Janelle? Her sexuality is irrelevant, but I honestly died when I heard she said that. Who honestly comes up with that.

Despite how pretty she is. It really surprised me when I heard that she didn't think she was pretty and that she was surprised that anyone wanted to look like her. That's really heart breaking. We are all attractive in our own way and if someone so effervescently attractive isn't happy with how they look what does that say.

You know I spread all of my Vogue's from the year out on my dresser and I was piling them up in December and it really struck me that the only black cover girl was Lupita Nyong'o. Of course Lupita is stunning, but what is the message when a fashion magazine only has one cover girl that looks like you. Kanye and Kim did have the cover in April, but still what does this say when we're always shown this one standard of what beauty is.

Lupita said something very similar about how she didn't know that she could be an actress until she saw The Color Purple. Representation is so important. I love that ABC has these sitcoms with an array of different types of families that Blackish, Fresh Off The Boat, and Modern Family represent. It always kills me when people say there doesn't need to be another gay character on a show. Really? Your offended that we don't have yet another white heterosexual stereotype that you've seen a hundred times before to fill this void.

I say all of that to say that you're pretty and attractive and sexy and there's nothing wrong with you just because there's no one like you on TV or on the cover of a magazine. Don't get me wrong you're still not on Janelle Monae's level, but your still pretty hot.

An Actor and a Model

Hilary Duff is queen bitch to me, so of course I have to plug her new show Younger multiple times, just in case you miss an article as one does. Life is busy occasionally you have to miss Bubble Righted articles just as I occasionally forget to post on social media that a new article is up.

The real truth, though, is that when I did the Media Monday on Younger, I was so enamored by this all female led cast that I didn't really do the research that I as your trusty blogger should have done. I love a pretty boy. I'm kind of a slut. I have no type. I love it all. So, the fact that I missed this beautiful boy who is part of the cast of Younger is beyond me.

His name is Nico Tortorella. I don't feel that bad for missing out on talking about him. According to Wikipedia he is a recurring cast member, not a main cast member, but he's so pretty. He's an actor and a model. How cliched is that? Very. But, he's so pretty.

Sometimes I wonder if boys mind being called pretty. They're always questioning their masculinity anyway, so do they get offended when you call them pretty. If Hozier saw my tweet about him being pretty at the Grammy's would he be like what the fuck. Excuse you bitch. Stay in your lane. Or would he respond with my favorite blogger just called me pretty. That is the question.

What do I know about Nico Tortorella other then the fact that he's a model. One of his first acting roles was on this CW show called The Beautiful Life. It was about the modeling industry. He played an up and coming underwear model, of course. I wish I had known about this. I would have watched the shit out of that show. The plot could just be him walking around shirtless for forty minutes with interspersed dialogue and I would be set.

The show needless to say was canceled. It wasn't meant to be the next Gossip Girl after all. Nico was also in that creepy ass show, The Following. You know the one about the serial killer, Kevin Bacon's in it. If you're into that kind of thing. I'm sure it's great. I am not into it to be honest.

What we want to see of Nico Tortorella in Younger is lots of shirtless, walking around in his underwear, chilling. Possibly some pseudo sex scenes, because this is airing on TV Land after all. He is playing the lover of the lead, so the likelihoods that he'll ever become a series regular just got shot down. She'll dump him in season two and get another man and hopefully he'll be just as sexy as Nico Torterlla.

Thunder does not think he is cute actually. I told her I was doing my Snapshot Saturday on him and she was like #ewww. She said she doesn't like his eyebrows. Which is such a shallow reason not to think someone's cute for her. Thunder is all everyone is beautiful.

That's just how we are with celebrities. Being perfectly real, there isn't a boy from One Direction, I would turn down in real life. But, under this guise of I'll never meet you it's like, I'm sorry Harry Styles but you just don't measure up to my insatiable demands.

It makes me feel kind of bitchy, but like in a shallow, tinder kind of way. Younger is going to premiere on Tuesday March 31st at 10/9 central on TV Land and you should watch it for no other reason to stare at Nico.

The History of High Heels

I adore high heels. So, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that when forced to do an informative speech I chose to do it on the history of the high heel. I'm taking a speech class right now, because I have to for my major and it makes me die a little bit on the inside.

I've only given one other speech beside this one and I stalled. I was standing in front of the class. Had not said a word and I didn't remember a word. I finally manage to say that I would rather choke myself with the scarf I was wearing then give this speech. There was some uncomfortable laughter and in his review of my speech, my professor tells me that I should be a stand up comedian.

I said one sub par humorous thing that was ad libbed. I was also shaking in heels. It was really not a good moment. No. I will not be doing stand up. I am not funny.

The original topic of my speech was on the difference between BDSM and abuse. I felt it was important to discuss the inaccuracy in 50 Shades of Grey. Yes, I went to see it, but I saw it for entertainment purposes. People need to know that this movie isn't what the BDSM lifestyle is supposed to be about. It's supposed to be about comfort and an open discussion about what the two partners want. That's not what 50 Shades of Grey is.

My teacher liked the concept and then he slowly started finding problems with it. How was I going to prove that I was knowledgeable on the topic? I don't know, I did this crazy thing called research? If he wanted me to say that I regularly practice BDSM I would. Did he want me to say I watch porn. Done. I don't know what he wanted.

Then, he told me that as college students this might make people uncomfortable. He was basically saying that we were all virgins that knew nothing of sex. Not true. At all. I also did not plan on discussing specific sexual acts or practices. But, I was over it. He didn't want me to do it, so I changed the topic to the history of high heels.

Of course being the mischievous little bitch that I am, I ended it on the subject of fetish high heels. I managed to incorporate the words 'dildo' 'penis' and 'anal' all into one horrifying sentence. He was rightfully victimized.

Now. The true subject of the history of high heels. Where did they start. Where are they from? They were not created by butchers to keep there feet out of blood. That was one interesting rumor. It was only about a few centuries off in accuracy.

Chopines

Eventually they found there way to Europe. An early version was used by Venice prostitutes and was more of a platform called a chopine in the 1400's. It made the women taller and more visible. Royalty and the upper class soon updated it for themselves. It kept there feet out of the waste of the streets and served a reasonably practical purpose.

The true heel came around during the 1600's and was the height of masculinity. Queen Elizabeth I of England was the first documented ruler to wear them. It was the French King Louis XIV that turned it into a lifestyle. His shoes were red bottomed and only people in his favor could wear the red bottom.

Now you know where Louboutin got his idea for his red bottomed clackers.

Women initially did not wear them. When they did start wearing them it was in order to appear more masculine. There then began to be a separation in the type of heels men and women wore. Men's were more bulky and women's more delicate and stiletto like.

The enlightenment came around and people were like damn these heels are impractical. Men stopped wearing them. Although, there use for women didn't stop it slowed down. Heels were shorter. People just weren't feeling them in the 1800's.

With the invention of the camera. We did what anyone would do with such a great invention. Take naked pictures of women. Heels are a super normal stimulus, which is basically a fancy way to say that they enhance what we are already attracted to. They enhance the legs, the ass, the area of child bearing. They make our gait more attractive. But, all the dirty men of the 1800's cared about were the first three reasons.

Heels were back for erotic purposes. These sexy naked ladies were dressed up in them, but with the Victorian age, the classy sophisticated woman of the time was not going to be strutting in heels. Didn't mean they didn't do it. I am not an expert, but these are the people who made curtains for table legs because they were too sexual.

With the twenties Flappers were killing it with their heels, but it was really after World War II that heels made a major mainstream comeback. You won't believe why. The pin ups all the military men and sailors were looking at had heels on.

Pornography and fashion intersected and you can thank your grandfathers for bringing the stiletto back into existence. Thank you for being nasty old men. We applaud you for you interest in fashion.

Diana, Princess of Wales

There was going to come a time that I would have to talk about Princess Diana. The royals are having another baby and at this point I'm surprised Harry hasn't come out with a secret love child. Everyone loved Diana or at the very least everyone now loves Princess Diana. She was the people's princess after all.

My mother really liked her and she's always been my style icon. I always wanted to be like Princess Diana. I'm not sure how I quite got that into my head. She passed away in the car accident a year after I was born, but she embodied what I wanted to be. She is poise and dignity. Both of which I am not, but she is the standard I try to live by and fail at meeting every day.

Of course in her lifetime she was a fashion icon. Not at the beginning, though. That might really have been what endeared her to us, she was so charmingly not royal. She dressed plain and college school girl cute. It took some time, but slowly she started killing it all the time.

The fact that she was a legitimately great person as well didn't hurt how much everyone loved her. I for one have never forgiven Charles. Look here sir. You had Princess Diana and you are now married to the horse face that is Camilla. The gene pool is rough enough in the Windsor family and you brought that wench into it. On the bright side the likelihoods of them have children are nonexistent at this point.

I don't want Charles to be king. Let's just skip over him and hand the crown over to William and Kate. This could be a whole noir King Edward, Wallis Simpson abdication and I would be here for it, because nobody likes you sir.

While, Camilla and Charles were having the affair, you know everyone said that Princess Diana and that horse trainer guy, James Hewitt were going at it. This was a nasty and tawdry little thing that was going down.

Now everyone says that Harry is not Charles's son, but that he's the love child of Diana and James Hewitt. Isn't that so good, and that would explain so much. Harry is hot. He was in the military, he's got that good red hair. For a royal he is steamy. Sure we could tweak a few things, but we all saw the Vegas pictures and honey it was not bad.

If you are sitting there right now telling me you did not look up Prince Harry participating in copious amounts of high octane sex, you are so full of shit, I didn't even internet at the time, and I made it a point of seeing those pictures.

Poor William. He really was pretty cute back in his college days when he and Kate first started dating. He had a full head of hair He was boyish and charming. Probably too smart for me. Lord I would have tried to date him.

No matter which you father you take, though, the good genes that these boys have are from Princess Diana. I obviously didn't know her, but there's this part of me that wishes she was still here. This dull aching. She was fantastic and not just because Lady Gaga has a song about her (if you just asked your question of which one, you are a true Gaga fan). Princess Diana is what royalty was supposed to be and people still miss her. We would all be that lucky to be remembered that way.

A Wild Child Can Do It Better

Queen Ke$ha. Of course we're not using the $ sign anymore. She has removed it from her name. That will take a lot of adjustment for me. It will be easier to type her name and tag her, though. So, that's exciting.

I think you all know what I'm thinking. We need new Kesha music in 2015. Sure we had “Timber”, but technically it was Pitbull's song and that only goes so far. We need a new Kesha full length. I didn't know until I started mentioning it to people that people didn't know she was in a legal dispute with her record producer.

His name is Dr. Luke and she's signed to his record label Kemosabe. You know his music “Since You Been Gone”, “Girlfriend”, “I Kissed a Girl”, “Party in the U.S.A.”, “Hold It Against Me”, “Where Have You Been”. And, basically any hit Kesha song you can think of.

You can read about it, if any part of what Kesha is saying is true. It's absolutely disgusting. I don't think she's lying. This would be a lot of effort to go to just to get out of a record. She's accusing him of rape, drugging her, and he's the reason she went to rehab. You might remember that she went in for an eating disorder. I truly question why anyone let him around Britney Spears. I feel like we need to protect Britney and a man as emotionally abusive and manipulative as Dr. Luke should not be anywhere near her.

I'm not sure what Kesha's contract is for. I don't know how many albums she would need to release to get our from Dr. Luke's thumb or if it's for set length of time. I don't know. I do know a lot of singers just release a greatest hits to get that last album out of the way. Kesha could do that. She's had 9 certified hits of her own. Not a single one of her singles has missed the top 40.

And, if she can get Pitbull or 3OH!3 to grant her permission to release their collaborations on her greatest hits she'll have ten songs right there and she won't even have to record new material.

Of course, since Dr. Luke is the head of the record label, he might not allow this. He disgusts me. Kesha does not deserve this.

You know I actually wrote a Media Monday on “Timber” last year. It never got published. It was like a trial article so my former blog mates so they knew I could write. It basically talked about why “Timber” was working and why previous singles “C'Mon” and “Crazy Kids” had barely cracked the top 40. I threw a little shade, but I love me some Kesha and I assumed we would have new Kesha music in 2014.

It seems questionable if we'll have new Kesha music in 2015. You know how long court battles take. But, Kesha's mental health is so much more important then new music from her. I want her to be happy and healthy instead of emotionally traumatized. I hope that is how all Kesha fans are reacting. For someone who makes us so happy, its really upsetting to know how much pain she's been in.

I just want to hug Kesha and be like its okay. We love you. And, she's has being looking so good since she got out of rehab. Like, slay Kesha, SLAY. She has looked so good. The real point of the Snapshot Saturday revealed. Kesha is sexy and wonderful and no man should be criticizing her body. No man should criticize any woman's body. We are all sexy, vibrant human beings, and if you can't appreciate that, it is not up to me to prove it to you.

Cross our fingers that Kesha gets away from Dr. Luke this year, signs another record deal, and of course the side benefit of all of that would be new music for us. She did however release something on soundcloud called “Lover”. I am not really feeling it, but new Kesha music is new Kesha music. And, I will take what I can get.

Boring in Vip

I've been tagging so many things on my twitter with #TooCoolToDance. You were probably like, another one, I am so over this. I am going to unfollow you.

I feel like I owed you an explanation, because who knows if this song is going to be a hit. It's called “Too Cool to Dance”. It's by this adorable little girl Eden xo. As you can tell she's precious. I'm a little bit obsessed with her, because of how much I love this song. I'm ready for the full length now. It's not a hit, yet, but it will be

The radio was actually doing it's job for once. The announcer was like up next “Too Cool to Dance” and I was like #Disgusting. Why does she think she's so cool that she doesn't need to dance. #Ihateher. Then, I actually heard it and it was all about how she isn't too cool to dance, and she won me over.

I have not listened to any of her work before this song. She was part of some punk rock band that broke up. They were called Shut Up Stella. After that she pulled a Marina and the Diamonds stunt or it really was another band, that was called Jessie and the Toy Boys. After this we transitioned into Eden xo.

One of the songs she released before this is called “White Girl Wasted” and I was like I might need to hear this. I've held off, because it was a canceled song from what was supposed to be her first album This is How Rumors Start.

It might make the new album. We shall see. The way I would describe “Too Cool To Dance” would be new disco. It's cute and adorable. I particularly like the break down before the chorus where she says “It's boring in the VIP, everybody watching me”.

If you read my article a few weeks ago on my favorite albums of 2014 you would know this new disco sound is perfect for me. One of my four favorite albums was the disco inspired Super Critical by The Ting Tings. “Too Cool To Dance” sounds like a more mainstream version of what The Ting Tings were trying to accomplish.

This is a compliment.

She's also doing a contest where you can a make video of yourself dancing to “Too Cool To Dance” and be put in her next music video. I would totally enter if I didn't dance like uncooked pasta. That said, I was in the kitchen when the parents walk in. I was just casually learning the choreography for “To Cool To Dance”.

They looked at me like WTF are you doing and I was like fuck you back. It was so great mortally embarrassing myself in front of my parents. At least I'm already the disappointment, so this isn't dragging me down anywhere.

Great Britain Can Take My Body Now

If you flashback to twitter a few weeks ago. You may recall my little obsessions with Chris Mears and Tom Daley. Let me clarify that by Great Britain can take my body, what I really mean is that their Olympic diving team can do whatever they want with me.

I was having a mental block on what I should do for Snapshot Saturday and I said why not just talk about sexy divers. Obviously. I considered just doing Tom Daley or just Chris Mears, but more skin is better then less skin. I am so sorry to their teammate Jack Laugher that I am not talking about.

Actually at the moment neither Tom nor Chris are available. They are both dating these ugly sluts. I don't even know what Chris Mear's girlfriend is. Maybe I could get Tom. Because, his standards are not set as high as they should be.

Side note that Tom Daley is bisexual. I had to break this news to my co-worker and she was heart broken. I found out about Tom Daley, because well first he's a super attractive British diver. Obviously. I'm into it. Secondly, his coming out video is literally the cutest thing ever.

He makes it clear that he is bisexual. It's important not to erase that and just say that's he's gay or just say that he's straight. I will never meet him and therefore never date him. The man he's dating right now is a screenwriter named Dustin Lance Black. This man is the reason Tom acknowledged to the world that he liked men. I don't blame him. Men are sexy, but this is the man who got Tom Daley to be true to himself. WTF.

Chris Mears on the other hand. I don't even know who he's dating, but I'm sure she's basic. He is very straight. However, he posed in GT. Naked mind you. I have seen all the pictures. You don't see his penis so fill free to google it. They were the pictures for the background on my computer and my lock screen. I wanted him for Christmas so bad and it didn't happen.

By the way GT stands for Gay Times. I did not know this. I had to look it up and he was in their naked issue. Can we just say I would totally subscribe to this magazine if he was in it every month. Gag me with a spoon already.

As I said Chris Mears naked body was and is the background on my computer. This went out of my mind. I was sitting in the front row of my math class. My professor is like open your laptop's were going to take a practice quiz or whatever it was. I filtered out that Chris Mears in all of his sexiness was on my computer. I don't think my classmates were surprised per say, but honestly I don't need to prove to people that I'm a whore. They figure that out for themselves.

The same co-worker who didn't know Tom Daley was gay also made me pick between him and Zac Efron.

I was like this bitch. After some time, I came up with my answer. It might surprise you that I picked Tom Daley.

Like, yes he is a step below Zac Efron, but let me explain myself. So, Tom Daley is cute and sexy, but he's best friends with Elton John. To me, Elton John is like a king I've never invested in. He slays me, but I don't want his music. But, if I can get in good with Elton John, I might meet Madonna. Because, you know they have that love, hate friendship. Having sex with Zac Efron every night will not compare to meeting Madonna. It's Madonna. I have my priorities straight.

Also, Elton John hangs out with the sexiest people ever, so if Tom ever did leave me I would have back up. I could date a porn star. Yes. Elton John is a dirty old man and he just casually hangs out with this porn star, who is very attractive by the way. I don't know his name, but if you're going to watch porn I say watch quality porn. And, I feel like this boy would provide that.

If I have not given you proof as to why you should date a swimmer, I don't know what more I can do to convince you. You might need to realize that you are a lesbian and I support you. Like that's okay. Sacajawea told me she didn't think Tom Daley was hot and I almost spit my coffee on her. What a dumb bitch.

Do you know who Laverne Cox is?

You should know. First transgendered woman to be featured on the cover of Times and the best hairdresser ever in Orange is the New Black.

I don't just kind of like Laverne Cox, I just love her. She is a sexy, beautiful, confident, well spoken icon. She might not be an icon, yet. But, I have no doubt that in a few decades she will be. She is the first main stream transgender talent.

As much as I love Chaz Bono, he was not as much a talent, then the son of a famous celebrity. Laverne Cox is making mainstream progression. That is something to applaud. Her role as Sophia Burset on Orange is the New Black is stunning. She is playing a transgendered woman in prison.

In the first season she was unable to get her medication. And, she had to do some pretty crazy things. This medication mind you is for her body. It was medically necessary. If I remember correctly it was her estrogen pills, the ones that replace her testosterone. They were no longer the right dosage. I could be wrong, I haven't watched it in a while.

Her role on Orange is the New Black does a great job at publicly addressing a lot of the problems that trans people face in prison, in life. You just have to love Laverne Cox. She is a goddess.

I decided to do this article on her, specifically, because of Transgender Awareness Day. That is November 20th every year. This year it was on a Thursday. If you follow me on tumblr or twitter you know that's all I was talking about. I was going to apologize and say I'm sorry for being so annoying. Then, I realized I had no reason to apologize. This is one day out of the year and you would have to get over it.

Being transgender is so hard. That's something people don't understand. That kills me. It is the LGBT community. Not the LGB community. Transgendered people go through a lot of violence and discrimination. Your opinions on this are irrelevant. You need to support these people. You need to support any friend or family member who acknowledges this to you. This is not your body. This is not your life choice. This is someone else's body. This is someone else's choice. It does not effect you.

Repeat after me.

“It does not effect you.”

Just repeat that to yourself and embrace them. The person has not changed. They have always been this way, this is just the first time they've actually acknowledged it in front of you. Let's talk about the fact that the average life expectancy for a transgendered individual is about 30 years of age. Let that sink in.

You are twenty more times to be young and homeless if you are transgendered. The answer to why the average life expectancy is at 30 should now be answered. Your shitty opinions are going to cause the death of someone you cared very deeply about before that.

41% of all trans people have attempted suicide. 1 in 12 transgendered women will be murdered. Yes. That is a high ratio. That should also answer why the life expectancy is unacceptably low.

Protect transgender people, because no one else is going to. That is why Laverne Cox is important. That is why Chaz Bono is important. These people cannot be marginalized. They are fucking important. Human life is important. I cannot stress that enough.

Love these people, because they go through so much shit. Do not marginalize them. We are all important and I don't know why people don't get that.

We're Not The Same

Indie rockers, The Ting Tings hail from Manchester. They are one of my favorite bands. I would say my favorite band. Their career has been on a downward slide since their breakout hit “That's Not My Name” back in 2008. Follow up album Sounds From Nowheresville produced not a single hit, except for a surprising top ten hit with “Hang It Up” in Japan.

I was mistaken in my October Supposition article in saying that they were dropped from their record label. They left Sony and decided to start their own label, Finca.

They obviously do not care about the fame. This is not the way to go. None of the songs they released from their newest album Super Critical made any commercial impact. And, I like both “Wrong Club” and “Do It Again”. If we're being honest, though, even with a major record label backing them neither of these songs would have been the top of the tops.

For what they are The Ting Tings are an artist's artist. They like creative control and they are very visual. One of the reasons they're the topic of Snapshot Saturday is how much there was to pick from. For only three albums under their belts they've done a good job branding themselves.

Each record proves how much range they have or want to have. It also doesn't hurt that lead vocalist Katie White is absolutely adorable. Sexy. No, but definitely cute. Then, you have drummer, back up singer, anything you can imagine in the second part of the duo, Jules De Martino. As long as this man has his sunglasses on, he is sexy as can be. Without them. Eh. It is what it is.

I am thoroughly enjoying Super Critical now that it is in my hands. The Ting Tings decided not to release the album on CD in the United States, so I had to order it from England. It took forever. And, now they've decided there will be a physical release date for the United States. January 13th of 2015. Put it on your calendars.

Now for the kind of fan I am. Waiting three months for this album was not in the cards. I am glad to have it in my hands. I'm assuming the physical release date will coincide with some form of an American tour. Hopefully, I will see them. If I do. I will tell you. It will be everything.

The album I might add is very good. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. My personal favorites being “Only Love” and “Failure”. It's great. Now it is all that Daft Punk bullshit I said it would be, but it's The Ting Tings. And, they slay and I love it. It's a strong new-disco record.

Thank you Ting Tings for this gift. Side note that after six years, Jules has yet to improve his diction. I will grant that it's a little bit better, but he's there singing his verses, and as a native English speaker, I can make no heads of it.

If you were a woman and I was a man.

That's how RuPaul opened the closing song on his second album Foxy Lady. It's just one of the many gender blurring, tongue in cheek moments RuPaul has embraced over the course of his career as the worlds foremost drag queen and Supermodel of the World.

RuPaul is a phenomenon of the 90's. He gained cult status with the release of his almost top forty hit “Supermodel (You Better Work)” (Expertly covered by Taylor Dayne for The Lizzie McGuire Movie). This success came right after the true scare of the AIDS epidemic and came as a result of MTV putting his music video on high rotation.

Not only was RuPaul an openly gay man in drag. He was black. He made it through so much adversity to make it to that point, and even though he's never had a song chart as well or as popularly he's maintained his foot in the music business.

There is no doubt in my mind that RuPaul was discriminated against and treated unfairly in his life. That's why it amazes me how loving he is. How willing he is to embrace everyone. That's what his reputation was. The family friendly drag queen.

This reputation was hurt early on when he was molested by co-presenter Milton Berle at the MTV awards and ad libbed during their presentation. This was not the 'everybody say love' mentality that was expected of him. He was already on faulty rocks with the public just being a drag queen, but this didn't help either of his follow up singles gain radio success.

From that point he hosted a talk show on VH1, guested on All of My Children, dueted with Elton John on “Don't Go Breaking My Heart”, released an autobiography, a slew of dance club hits, until he eventually landed RuPaul's Drag Race on Logo.

I just have so much admiration for this man. It might be too much too put on him to say that he taught me to love. Not only other people, but myself. My parents don't know that I love RuPaul. When I was 15, I bought one of his albums.

My mother found it be vulgar (Mind you I owned Madonna's Erotica at this point) and couldn't believe that I would listen to anything that promoted the homosexual lifestyle. I don't know what she was worried about. Listening to RuPaul was not going to make me gay.

Needless to say. She threw it away one day. I couldn't believe it. I was so hurt. That's when I realized the kind of injustice there was. My mother hated him, because he was gay. That was her reason. It had nothing to do with the lyrical content. It had to do with who was singing it.

Let's not forget that Madonna's song “Deeper and Deeper” is about a boy coming to terms with his homosexuality. I was listening to things that accepted the lifestyle. I don't even know what to make of that. This isn't a problem, sent from hell to destroy the world. That's what 2012 was for.

It did nothing to make me not like RuPaul. I suppose I was supposed to revile him, because he's gay. I didn't I loved him still, and now here I am. Still obsessed with RuPaul and his show, still loving life. Let's not forget that he's a sexy drag queen. It was bound to happen that he needed a Snapshot Saturday.
