Priyanka Chopra is a goddess. She's one of the most stunning women. There's really not a solid reason why you should know who she is unless you consider yourself an expert on Bollywood cinema. She is one of India's most successful actresses
That's just not the kind of name you see on a daily basis in America. Yes. Priyanka is a singer and an actress. And a model. Of course. So, far Priyanka only has three songs. There's the Ester Dean cowritten “In My City”. I honestly don't feel this song. It's catchy, but do I really jam. No. Will.I.Am also throws a verse on the song, so that's exciting.
The song of hers I really live for is “Exotic”. It has Pitbull on the song (of course) and it's so catchy. It's so funny, because whenever I listen to it I just think of this post I saw on tumblr that goes off about being called 'exotic'. To be fair the chorus of the song is “I feel so exotic” not “I am exotic” It's a super fun and I kind of love it. |
She is current. Not a Marilyn Monroe, icon of the fifties. She is living breathing sexy. I suppose the question of how do I know about her is a fair question. I do have Indian neighbors, but they don't really talk about their culture. They are legitimately from India. They immigrated a few years ago and my parents are friends with them and I'm friends with their daughter. She's like four years younger then me and she's my bitch.
The reason I heard about her is basically how I hear about everyone. I do research for the blog. I know the most random shit, because of this blog. I google things, I look stuff up, so I can talk about. When I talked about Ester Dean a few months ago I looked up her production discography (thanks wikipedia). One of the people she wrote a song for stood out to me. Priyanka Chopra.

She also did a song with the Chainsmokers (the men behind “#Selfie”). It's not quite on the level of insanity that “Let me take a selfie”, but what can be. God, I love that song. The most recent release of Priyanka's is a cover of the Bonnie Raitt song “Can't Make You Love Me”. It's been upped with electronic backing and it's a solid song. None of these have made any dents on American charts as of right now, news of an album are nonexistent, despite the resounding commercial success of all three songs in India.

Buy her music. Support her. I love Priyanka. She's one of the major public faces for women's rights in India. I love her comments on rape. I think their spot on. If you've been looking for a sexy and attractive Indian role model, you have found your answer.
