So, over my fall break I attempted to write a short story for you. I knew I was going to be doing the 12 Days of Bubbles as my kind of Christmas present to you and I thought for Surprise Sunday I would do a short story. It went horribly wrong. It was very bad, and so I called my cousin. I asked her if she would be willing to write a short story for the blog. She already writes fiction in her spare time. She agreed after I e-mailed her my short story to read. She refrained from telling me how bad it was, which was sweet of her. She finished this short story over Thanksgiving and I am obsessed with it. I am basically the target audience at this point. Jamie slayed it and I'm not just saying that because she's my cousin and she's the shit. It's so much better then what I wrote. The basic premise of this short story is that it is set in the 1930's and a string of pearls are stolen. It is a noir detective story. It is also long, so get yourself a cup of coffee and be prepared to read. The main detective is one I have met before and I am just obsessed. I am literally fangirling over this. I love this story. At this point it's not even for you, it's for me. The second and final part will be posted next Sunday, so feel free to ask any questions so you can figure out who stole the pearls.
They're young. They're sexy and they kill people.
RuPaul. Glamazon, shameless self promoter, host of RuPaul's Drag Race. Topic of today's Snapshot Saturday.
She praises Beyonce, was a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race. She did release the truly terrible "Opposites Attract" onto the world, but Is it really any surprise that Paula Abdul became a topic of Throwback Thursday.
NOTE: Today is November 20th and is also Transgender Awareness Day, an annual observance that honors the memory of those who lives were lost in acts of ant-transgender violence.
By now you should have heard of Gwen Stefani's comeback. We all knew she wasn't on The Voice to play some games. I would say you're reading the wrong blogs if you didn't know, but this is the first time I've mentioned. And, the song came out last month. Needless to say it is a Friday Favorite and just reminds us how much we've missed Gwen in our lives.
Some said it was too much. Many said I was too poor. But, last weekend I saw two movies that had to make into Friday Favorites.
Size zero at Banana Republic. The blog changes name, but I never do.
